Bransholme’s favourite retail destination, North Point, is solidifying its commitment to independent brands with the signing of a new exciting retailer and has also agreed new lease deals over the summer that will see two of the centre’s much-loved businesses get bigger and better.
New tenant, The Mattress Shop, an independent retailer and manufacturer of beds and mattresses, will provide a brand new offering to the centre. The Yorkshire company, known as The Edwardian Bedding Company in other locations across the region, has agreed a three year lease for its new, 1,323 sq ft home at North Point.
Existing North Point tenant of 22 years, Billies Barbers has meanwhile upsized and relocated to a new unit after agreeing a new 10-year lease on a 636 sq ft space. Mac’s Hair and Beauty has also chosen to relocate within North Point after seven years to a 1,277 sq ft space. Owner Donna McLoughlin has upsized the salon on a five-year lease term, and is now offering additional beauty and aesthetic treatments, with two dedicated treatment rooms.
This news follows new tenants Planet Gym and Hays Travel who joined the centre earlier this year. Planet Gym which opened at North Point in January is the second independent Planet Gym in Hull, with 10,000 sq ft gym space and over 120 pieces of equipment. Hays Travel, which reopened in the former Thomas Cook branch in 2019, has now followed suit and agreed a 10-year lease.
Located in the heart of Bransholme, North Point Shopping Centre recently celebrated its 25th anniversary, having been renamed in 1994. As well as offering opportunities to shop at over 60 outlets, North Point frequently aims to offer a range of community events and activities.
