Civil Engineering Designer

The Role will primarily involve producing directly the in house design of all civils design works for our self delivery Construction business FI Construction.

There may be some management of third party consults to deliver these over all in house designs.

This is a very hands on design role so experience of collaborative working with a contractor is critical.

Role is based at our Head Office in Chorley with a requirement to visit various sites within our portfolio.

Key Tasks

  • Produce the Civil Engineering design in house for FI Construction
  • Procure and provide civils designs for projects in accordance with relevant design standards and codes
  • Interface and management of civils sub-consultants and specialist supply chain
  • Ensure the provision of high-quality Engineering services
  • Comply with Quality and Technical Assurance Procedures
  • Produce monthly progress reports and present to the senior team

Essential Skills & Experience

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate some or all the requirements below:

  • Extensive Drainage experience
  • Extensive cut and fill design experience
  • Experience developing Suds strategies for major developments
  • A degree in Civil Engineering, or equivalent
  • Working knowledge of design software
  • Experience with current UK design standards and working practices
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written
